Specialists in the design and manufacture of monitors and analysers for industrial applications, Land approached AME to help design a monitor for one their most extreme environment applications.

Situated at the topmost point of an industrial chimney, the Land 4500 MIII is a two component monitor which measures the opacity and dust concentration of a chimney’s omissions to ensure they are compliant. The challenge for AME was to design a product that could withstand this environment over prolonged periods, whilst being easy to install, setup and service.

The solution was a styled, robust cast aluminium body which housed the sensitive electronic componentry. An IP66 compliant enclosure to protect the internals for the harsh environments and exposure to wind rain and UV rays and a simple one handed operation to ensure easy installation use. We were able to generate fully working SLA models of the design whilst under development to test the fit and function of the monitor prior to committing to high volumes. The product launched successfully and has now been on the market for over 5 years.
